When Syd was 8 years old, she would walk the beaches of Lake Michigan collecting beautiful rocks to make and sell hand-made, unique necklaces. Two years later, Syd was diagnosed with Langerhan’s Cell Histiocytosis (LCH), a form of pediatric cancer. Syd was unwilling to be defeated by LCH. Her family and friends began wearing Syd’s signature necklaces as a show of solidarity, love and support during Syd’s chemotherapy treatments. This inspired Syd to use these necklaces as a platform to raise awareness about LCH and other underfunded pediatric cancers.
